Important Update: Save Your Old Facebook Live Videos before June 25!
If you’ve ever used Facebook Live to broadcast videos for your business, listen up.
Facebook is making changes to its storage policy for Facebook live videos, and it could affect videos you previously shared with your audience. Effective February 19, 2025, any new Facebook live videos will only be stored for 30 days by default on your Facebook page or profile. After this period, these videos will be automatically removed from your page and deleted from Facebook’s servers.
So, what does this mean for your existing live videos? Any live videos published before February 19, 2025, will be available for download until June 25, 2025. After June 25, 2025, these older live videos will be deleted from your page or profile, and you won’t be able to access them anymore.
If you have older content that was posted as a live video that you’d like to save and keep on file, now is the time to download it. You can archive it with the rest of your data, or post it to YouTube if it’s still relevant. Either way, if you want to keep a copy somewhere, download it now to ensure it doesn’t disappear.
